Cusps
Born on the edge between two signs
A cusp is the dividing line between one zodiac sign and the next. People born within a day or two of it are said to be born on the cusp.
Why the dates move
The Sun enters each sign at a particular moment, and that moment falls on a slightly different day, and at a different hour, from year to year. The dates printed for each sign are therefore approximate. Someone born close to a boundary can only be sure of their Sun sign by checking the exact time and place of birth in a chart.
What the tradition says
Some astrologers hold that a person born on a cusp carries something of both neighbouring signs, and write of a blend of the two. Others point out that the Sun is in exactly one sign at any given moment, so the idea of a blend belongs to popular astrology rather than to the technical kind.
