What the tradition says
Virgo is described as analytical, careful and helpful, a sign that likes to improve things and solve problems step by step. It shares Mercury with Gemini, but in an earthy way: Gemini talks about ideas, Virgo sorts them. The traditional shadow side is perfectionism and a tendency to worry.
Where it fits
As a mutable sign, Virgo closes a season in the Northern Hemisphere. Its element, earth, is shared with Taurus and Capricorn.
In tarot
The Golden Dawn tradition, which most modern tarot decks follow, links Virgo with The Hermit, Eight of Pentacles, Nine of Pentacles and Ten of Pentacles. The court cards of the suit that shares its element, Pentacles, are also loosely linked with it.
The dates are the usual tropical ones and shift by a day either way from year to year. People born close to a boundary should look at cusps.
Tarot, astrology and numerology are traditions of symbolism. This page says what the tradition associates with its subject. It does not predict anything and it is not advice.
